Plano Emergency Dental Service

Unfortunately, dental emergencies don’t follow a 9 to 5 schedule. When you are experiencing an oral health problem that requires immediate attention to stop persistent bleeding, save a tooth, or relieve significant pain, contact After Hours Dentistry in Plano, TX. Our office specializes in prompt and reliable urgent care services that support the immediate health and wellbeing of our patients – even when other dental offices are closed.

We Offer Urgent Care for These Dental Emergencies

Our highly-trained doctors and staff are equipped to treat these dental emergencies:

Extractions - Our first solution is to try and restore your existing teeth. However, sometimes a tooth just needs to come out. If you are in pain and need an extraction we are here for you. We also provide dental restoration work including dentures and implants after extractions.

Loose Bridges - Unless you’re in significant pain, a loose partial denture (bridge) is generally not considered a dental emergency. However, you should still schedule a dental appointment with one of our dentists as soon as possible to prevent the situation from getting worse.

Loose Crowns - When you lose a crown, try coating the tooth’s surface with an over-the-counter (OTC) dental cement to temporarily cap it. Whether you’ve lost a crown or it’s come loose, contact our office in Plano and one of our dentists will promptly replace it with a new crown in as little as one visit.

Loose Fillings - A lost or loose filling is usually not considered to be an emergency. But sensitivity to pressure, air, and temperature changes can make it quite painful. If your filling falls out, store it in a safe place and schedule an appointment with one of our dentists as soon as possible.

Broken or Chipped Teeth - Restoring a chipped tooth is typically not an emergency, and, in most cases, can be done using a dental bonding procedure. One of our experienced dentists will use a strong, enamel-colored resin material to artistically restore the tooth’s shape and appearance.

Soft Tissue Damage and Gum Bleeding - Bleeding gums are typically a symptom of periodontal disease – a dental emergency that our professionals can expertly treat. Your dentist will likely do a deep dental cleaning or scaling and root planning to remove infected areas of the gums. They might also prescribe a strong antibiotic mouthwash to help reduce inflammation and prevent further infection.

Loose or Knocked-Out Teeth - These situations are always a medical emergency. If your adult tooth has been knocked out, try putting it back in the socket and contact our office in Plano immediately. If it happens to your child’s baby tooth, do not try to reinsert it. Instead, bring your child to our office right away. You can preserve knocked-out teeth by storing them in milk.

Tooth Abscesses - An infected tooth (abscess) is a more serious dental health issue that may require emergency root canal therapy (RCT). The doctor will drill into the abscessed tooth, drain the pus, and then remove any infected tissue. If you have an abscessed tooth accompanied by a high fever, head to the nearest emergency department right away and get it checked out.

Toothaches - Advanced decay due to infection often results in a bad toothache. Thankfully, one of our dentists can perform root canal therapy (RCT) to treat the problem. Once they are finished, your pain will be gone and you’ll be able to resume normal activities. At that time it may also be necessary to restore the damaged tooth with a dental filling or same-day dental crown.

Cracked Teeth - Having a piece of a tooth break off at the worst possible time can be annoying and painful. And if there is significant pain or any blood involved, it is considered a dental emergency. Even if it doesn’t hurt or bleed, a cracked tooth or chipped tooth should be seen and treated promptly by one of our doctors.
